Tarnow, Virgil K.

Born March 10, 1933, in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Orville and Leona Tarnow.

Virgil graduated from La Porte High School and Tri-State University Angola, Indiana.

He was a Veteran serving in the U.S. Army 1953-1955.

He was an electrical engineer in several cities, including Barber-Colman in Rockford.

He died July 29, 2014, in his home, in Rockford.

Original owner: Mrs. Eva A. Works, widow of Attorney Charles A. Works, who resided in this house from 1903 though 1919.

She is listed in the 1930 Federal Census as owning a farm in Buffalo, Johnson County, Wyoming.  She died May 19, 1934.

The house was sold to Dr. Dudley W. Day in (approximately) 1919-1920. He is listed as the owner in 1920.

Born April 15, 1927, in DeKalb, Illinois, son of Willie and Ila (Roland) Ester.

Graduate of Kirkland High School.

Veteran of WWII.

Engaged in farming since 1949.

Died July 21, 2014.
