Rockford Germania Gesang Verein – 6-29-1885

“The Rockford Germania won the second prize for singing at the Sangerfest in Watertown last Saturday.  The prizes were awarded last night.  There were fifteen singers, under direction of Prof. Dedrickson.”

Germania Gesang Verein – 1885

“The Germania Gesang Verein were presented with a handsome colored baldric [a belt worn over the shoulder on one side, across the chest, to the hip on the other side, used to carry a sword or other weapon] yesterday afternoon, by their lady friends.”
