11 month old Patsy Gaydos, born while her father was in the South Pacific

“Sy,” a former Rockford resident, enlisted in the Navy Dec. 5, 1939.  He was in Manilla when the war broke out and at Saipan.

At the end of his leave he went to Miami, Fla. to attend school and will go from there to San Pedro, California, before starting out on a rescue ship.

Sylvester is the son of Mrs. Eric Axelson, RR#1, Belvidere.
