Donald McClure was president of Central Illinois Electric and Gas Co., and died in his home of an apparent heart attack. He came to Rockford in 1933. He served on Boards of Directors at Illinois National Bank and Trust Co., Illinois Hospital and Health Service (Blue Shield and Blue Cross). Trustee of Rockford College and Rockford Memorial Hospital, Winnebago County Public Building Commission. Member Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, University Club, Rockford Rotary Club, University Club of Chicago, Rockford Country Club, Rockford Elks Club, Mid-Day Club of Rockford.
Central Illinois Electric and Gas Co. became part of Commonwealth Edison Corp.
