“L. Sundstrand, Builder, Dies at Home Today”

“Funeral Services to be Held Tuesday”

“His health failing for a year, Lars Gustaf Sundstrand, prominent in local building circles for many years, died at noon today, at his home, 1848 Hutchins Ave.”

“Mr. Sundstrand was born in Sodermale, Sweden, May 28, 1855, and came to Rockford on May 14, 1882. He had resided here continuously since.  Until failing health intervened, Mr. Sundstrand was actively engaged as a building contractor.”

“Besides the widow, Mrs. Anna Peterson Sundstrand, whom he married May 18, 1879, Mr. Sundstrand leaves the following children: G. D. Sundstrand, Mrs. Edwin Cedarleaf, Mrs. A. G. Carlson, C. A. Sundstrand and O. J. Sundstrand, all of Rockford. One son, Frank, died in 1897 when three years old.”

“Mr. Sundstrand was a member of the Swedish Mission Tabernacle church and took a prominent part in various church activities for a number of years.”

“Funeral services and burial will take place Tuesday afternoon. Definite arrangements will be announced Monday.”
