only four days after he left Rockford following a  short leave, a 20 year old Rockford sailor was reported the only casualty of a ship-submarine  collision off the Atlantic coast, Wednesday.  Son of Mr. and Mrs. David Johnson, RR #5. The body  is being shipped here for burial a ship fitter, 3rd Class, aboard USS Honolulu attended East High School, former employment at Sundstrand Machine Tool Co. took part in 5 major engagements in Philippines
