Born Jan. 19, 1919, in Ripon, WI; son of Frederick Jess, Sr. and Marguerite (Doehring) Jess.

WWII U.S. Army veteran; Second Lieutenant in the Signal Corps, served in the European Theater.

Graduate Ripon College and The Milwaukee School of Engineering.  Employed by Barber Colman Co.

Married 1946 to Vera Debiasi.

Died January 23, 2015, in his home.

Sunset Funeral Home, St. Peter Catholic Church, Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Garton, Robert J. “Bob”

Born Jan. 27, 1924 in Elk Mound, Wi, the son of David and Irene Garton.

Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in the European, African, and Middle Eastern Theaters.

Former supervisor of National Lock.

Also worked as a brick mason with his brothers at G & G Masonry.

Charter member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Died Nov. 15, 2014, at Alden Debes Rehabilitation & Health Center.

Sundberg Funeral Home; private burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Key, James L.

Cherry Valley —-

Born November 22, 1925, in Marion, IN; the son of the late Solomon D. and Mirada (Moore) Key.

He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the European Theater.

He worked for G.E., the Ft. Wayne and Rockford Newspapers, and Quaker Oats.

Died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, in Northwoods Care Centre, Belvidere, IL.
