John R. Bennett, 41, 311 West Gate Pkwy., died June 14, 1958, of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Born Feb. 15, 1927, in Rockford, son of Jack and Jacki Bennett
Married former Penne Caporali in Waukegan
Served as lieutenant in Army ordnance corps in WWII
Survived by widow and 3 daughters: Jill, Jan and Jinx

died 1/24/2014 in P.A.Peterson Center for Health; Fred C. Olson Mortuary; Scandinavian Cemetery. Born 1/26/1927 in Pontiac, IL, son of John and Stacia (Bocek) Zenisek U.S. Army in WWII. Married Joanne L. Hoffman in Abingdon, IL 8/4/1951. Completed grad school at Illinois Institute of Technology, M.D. from U of I Medical School. Four children. Served as Chief of Staff at OSF St. Anthony, physician in Rockford over 32 years; photo with obituary.
