Pecatonica – John A. Ahlstrom, 53, of Pecatonica died at 1:45 a.m. Monday Oct. 4, 1999 after a long illness. Born January 2, 1946, in Rockford, the son of Oscar and Eva Newell Ahlstrom. Lived in Pecatonica the past 23 years, coming here from Cherry Valley. Married Adrianne “Nan” Peterson in Rockford, Sept. 18, 1965. Employed by Ingersoll Milling Machine Co., Rockford, as a senior project engineer for 13 years. Formerly employed by Greenlee Brothers for 20 years. He was a part-time self-employed farmer for the past 13 years.
Veteran of the U.S. Army, as a sergeant in Vietnam from 2/7/1966 to 2/7/1969. Member of the 11th Armored Cavalry “Blackhorse Trooper” Regiment, VFW Post 15014, American Legion Post 2910, Bloomington IL and the Winnebago County Farm Bureau.
