Robert F. Turner 1938—2020
Robert F Turner, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather passed away at age 82 on Friday December 11, 2020 at his home in Cherry Valley, Illinois surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born in Channahon, Illinois on May 27, 1938, the son of Frank and Carrie (Frederick) Turner (both deceased). He grew up in Channahon, active in the Channahon/Minooka community as a baseball coach, church youth group leader and school board member. Bob enjoyed golf, fishing, NASCAR, and was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan. Bob served in the United States Marine Corps from 1957-1959, stationed on Kodiak Island Alaska. He retired from Minnesota Life, where he was a regional retirement planning sales executive.
Bob will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife Joann Turner, daughters Susan (Kent) McMillin, Jennifer (Tracy) Beard, son Mark (Donna) Turner and grandchildren Darren (Brittany) McMillin, Allison (Ryan)j Egan, Kelly Turner, Maggie Beard, Josh Beard and great-grandson Barrett McMillin.
Bob will be remembered at a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the OSF Rockford Hospice (9951 Rock Cut Crossing, Loves Park, Illinois 61111, (815)381-6330), who lovingly helped care for him. Wortmann, Donald H., MD

Barrington—-

Born July 15, 1926, in George, Iowa, to Elmer and Sally Wortmann.

Graduate of University of Iowa Medical School.

Practiced pediatrics in Rockford for 47 years.

Served during WWII in the U.S. Navy, and was also an active member of Rotary International.

Died Oct. 30, 2014.

Wakefield, Lawrence E. “Larry”

Born Oct. 18, 1923 in Baraboo, WI, son of Lawrence Wakefield and Stella LaSeur Wakefield.

Served as a Corporal in U.S. Army Air Corps from December 1942 – March 1946

Served as an Industrial Engineer for 46 1/2 years at Barber Colman.

1941 graduate Baraboo, Wisconsin High School.

Died August 7, 2014, in his home.
