Dr. Robert Allen Lindquist

Age 71, of 2414 Pinedrop Parkway, died Wednesday, August 1984 in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a one year illness

He was born November 16, 1912 in Aurora IL, son of Irving and Lily Pearson Lindquist

He married Pearl Meister in Aurora on June 9. 1973

He was a self employed optometrist for over 40 years, graduating from the Illinois College of Optometry

Dr. Lindquist was in the Navy in World War II

He was a member of Our Master’s Methodist United Church

Services by Sundberg Funeral Home, funeral at Our Master’s Methodist United Church, burial at Arlington Memorial Park

“Rockford Boy Killed Under Truck Wheels”

The 17 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lindquist was killed when he slipped and fell under the wheels of a large motor truck in Chicago. The boys head was crushed under the wheels and he died instantly

The tragedy ended a vacation trip that Mrs. Lindquist and her four children were taking

He was born in Rockford 10/22/1906 and had lived here all his life

Part owner of Lindquist Jewelers, one of the oldest businesses on Broadway

One of the organizers of City National Bank and Trust in the 1940’s

Survivors include his wife, Lillian Lindquist; two sons: Dwight Lindquist from Rockford, Dr. John Lindquist of Indianapolis, and Reverend Frank Lindquist, missionary currently on leave in Rockford; and two daughters: Mrs. Arthur Volle of Wheaton, and Mrs. Sherman Ebay, Sewanee, Tennessee.
