“Augmented by youngsters from the Rockford Children’s Home, one of the largest groups of boys and girls of the season attended Thursday’s children’s story hour at Highland branch library conducted by Mrs. C. B. Skinner (left), librarian, and Miss Edith Van Duzen, member of the public library staff, who retires Sept. 1.  Refreshments were served after Miss Van Duzen told stories. The library’s story hour program closes next week.”

With her husband donated lecture hall in old Rockford College building and Severson Auditorium on new Rockford College campus

“Last March, she donated her 370-acre property, Deer Lodge, to the Winnebago County Forest Preserve.”
