Chief Bargren entered the Rockford Police Dept. as a patrolman May 5, 1889. He became Chief on May 5, 1893. He retired May 6, 1940.

He was followed by Chief Charles Manson, who was followed by Chief Folke Bengston.

Hodge, C. Keith

Born December 15, 1932 in Rockford, IL, son of Wylie I. and Gladys E. (Hooper) Hodge.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Keith served his country in the Korean Conflict from 1950-1953.

He was employed with the Rockford Police Department 30 years, and the Winnebago Sheriff’s Dept. 1990-2005.

Sunset Funeral Home, burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
