He was head of 5 Monogram companies, sold to Rhode Island conglomerate Nortek, needed new job or retirement.
Rauh had a call from Rexnord, looking for someone to run Rockford Products. Rexnord Group Vice-President: Ed Mentzer was immediately impressed. Group Vice-president Dick Goff; Vice-President of Engineering Bill Naill; Vice-President of Finance Dennis Schaer, Sales-Marketing and Planning Vice-President Tom Johnson; Dick Giesen, Don Chadwick.
Until 1976, Rockford Products was a locally owned home to 1,300 employees. Annual sales topped $100 million.
Three divisions; Rockford Cold Formed Products accounted for 75% of sales.
Under Rauh, Rockford Products underwent the transition to being an engineering company.
